Michael Chandler is eagerly waiting for Conor McGregor to drop a diss track on him so that he can respond. ‘Iron’ is scheduled to take on the Irishman, who is coming back to the octagon after three years, at their UFC 303 main event bout on June 29. After a contentious, and at times even violent ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ stint as rival head coaches last year, the bad blood between the two is palpable.

After Conor McGregor shared photos of him in a studio, seemingly recording a song with cryptic captions about a big announcement coming soon, Chandler hopes it will be a diss track aimed at him. The former Bellator champion, amid the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud seemingly has a lot to get off his chest and tweeted: “Please tell me a dis track is coming…I will roast this fool,” undoubtedly after seeing McGregor’s in-studio pictures.

Just like Chandler, fans, too are hoping that the Irishman comes out with a diss track insulting his upcoming opponent, and will definitely be a first of its kind in the combat sports world. And Chandler, who prefers to do his talking in the ring, will have an opportunity to unleash his own verbal fury on the former champion before he retires McGregor at UFC 303 as he intends to do.

Given their history, which consists mainly of Conor McGregor insulting Michael Chandler and tugging his leash every opportunity he gets, it is not surprising that ‘Iron’ does not like ‘Notorious’. At all. And the Missouri native has not been shy in talking about what he wants to do to the former two-division champion.

After having promised to break McGregor’s jaw, spirit and retire him previously, the former Bellator champion has promised to beat the Dubliner in such a dominant fashion that the fans stop taking him seriously as a fighter.

“I do. I think I’ll be the last person,” Chandler said. “I think I dominate him in a fashion that — it’s almost as if he can keep trying to come back, but he will have lost the fan’s interest so much more after I do what I’m gonna do to him on June 29,” he said.

This outcome is not entirely out of the question. While McGregor is the biggest star in the sport’s history, whether or not he can still take on the top guys in his division remains to be seen. Coming into the bout off of a serious injury, consecutive losses, and advancing age, there are serious questions about McGregor’s future as a fighter. And the Chandler fight may, for better or worse, answer these questions once and for all.
