Notably, the world-acclaimed teacher took to his social media handle and penned a heartfelt message to his followers as he announced the “biggest fight” of his life. Revealing his condition and the fight against stomach cancer, the Brazilian also disclosed his future plan to defeat the formidable foe. Following this revelation, UFC fighters and MMA fans expressed their concern regarding the same. Further, they offered condolences and support to the submission grappler and his family for the tough road ahead. Among the long list of admirers of the 40-year-old, the former 5-time MMA champion also took to Twitter to express his concerns.
Significantly, Jake Shields reacted to the appalling news after one of his followers notified him of the saddening development. Further, the practitioner of the same style as Marcelo Garcia couldn’t process the same, as was evident by his reaction.

Subsequently, arguably one of the best grapplers in the world, he advised the fans to listen to their bodies and get checkups. Later on, he added how grateful he was as he visited the doctor, only the hiccups after eating.
Lastly, he thanked his fans who supported him and maintained to never forget them. After retiring and claiming five IBJJF world titles from 2004 to 2011; Garcia took the role of a coach in the latter half of his career.
