The UFC commentator, Joe Rogan, is mindful about what he eats. His most recent Instagram photo demonstrates this. Rogan criticized the food pyramid’s informational content. The food pyramid was created by nutritionists who assert that it is based on extensive research. The fact that it is a government-funded chart is where Rogan expresses his rage the most.  According to him it is unfortunate that the highest level of authority cares so little about public health. He directly challenges the absurdity of the chart, which shows that lucky charms are healthier than steak.

Rogan wrote “thanks to the large collection of legitimate nutrition experts with independent shows distributing information based on solid research, we know this is bu***hit. Complete, undeniable, indefensible bu***hit. But yet this government funded recommendation chart is here to let you know they suck at giving food advice too”.

Rogan wrote under the post “So far the 10 days have been great on this diet, but there’s a bit of an adjustment period for the first couple weeks where my workouts are a big of a slog. That’s what I’m going through now. Totally manageable, but the adjustment to no carbs takes a couple weeks to get used to. I think I’m going to add in fruit to make that easier.” Rogan has indicated numerous times that he does not mindlessly follow advice from experts. He stands out from the crowd because of the way he does things.

Rogan has a history of ignoring nutritionists’ and food experts’ recommendations. The food pyramid introduced to the public and the argument made by Rogan, however, made sense to many. It is difficult to comprehend how some foods are recommended for moderate consumption while the majority of people think they are unhealthy. Rogan presumably sought to utilize his Instagram feed to spread the word that public health is a serious concern.
