Brock Lesnar was one of the few athletes who successfully transitioned into the UFC from pro wrestling. Many predicted Lesnar would not last too long in the promotion, however, he managed to reach the top of the heavyweight division, winning the title in the process.

The Beast Incarnate was looking unbeatable, defending his title twice against Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. However, a young Cain Velasquez was gaining momentum during this time. He was on an 8-fight unbeaten streak and got a shot at Lesnar after beating Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, knocking him in the first round.
As Velasquez was a skilled amateur wrestler like Lesnar, many felt that Lesnar’s size advantage would be too much for the Mexican.

The two would finally meet at UFC 121, where fans would get the unexpected. Velasquez made quick work of Lesnar winning by TKO in the first round. Moreover, he became the first person in the UFC to knock out ‘The Beast’ and become the next UFC heavyweight champion. This surprised a majority of the audience, who had little clue about the Mexican fighter, and catapulted him into stardom. Hollywood actor and comedian Kevin Hart also reacted to this victory.
Kevin Hart reacts to Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez
Hart took to Twitter and hilariously stated how a ‘Mexican dude’ beat the seemingly unbeatable Lesnar. Moreover, he also added that he would be taking UFC classes from now on.
I just watched that UFC fight, the mexican dude beat da living shit out of "Brock Lesnar" Im about 2 take a UFC fighin class & fuck y"all up

He tweeted this back in 2010 during the rise of Velasquez. Following this, Velasquez would lose to Junior Dos Santos in his first title defense. However, he managed to gain back his title in the rematch with Santos to become a two-time heavyweight champion. Lesnar, on the other hand, would go on to compete in just two matches before leaving the promotion.
Lesnar and Velasquez reunite
This was not the last time that the pair would meet each other, as, after his devastating loss against Francis Ngannou, Velasquez called an end to his UFC career. However, he would transition into professional wrestling competing in the underground circuit. He would also join the WWE when Lesnar was in the promotion to unite again.

The Beast would get the better of Velasquez in his WWE feud, beating him in the WWE’s Crown Jewel PPV. However, Velasquez was eventually released from the promotion in April 2020 due to budget cuts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
