Conor McGregor is making good use of his enormous wealth. He plans to develop hundreds of build-to-rent as well as supermarkets in a prime location in Dublin, Ireland. However, this development by ‘The Notorious’ is not that smooth of a process. McGregor‘s plan faced a lot of issues; as any other empire development plan does. What gives the Irishman a hard time isn’t necessarily a common problem that one would expect to have during such projects. It is a rather wild problem.

McGregor’s ambitious plan is going through hurdles because of bats. You read that right. And the 34-year-old UFC fighter is facing some serious trouble due to the wild species.

Bats bring trouble for Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor has an ambitious, multi-million dollar project under development in Dublin 12. He plans to build rent-only apartments, supermarkets, and cafes at Grand Canal in Drimnagh. However, the Dublin City Council asked the Irishman to comply with dusk and dawn bat activity surveys and a bat roost survey. Compliance with it is necessary to safeguard bats when such large-scale projects are being developed.

In response to the plea, Conor McGregor‘s representatives stated to have no bat sightings or droppings were reported within the property or anywhere close.

Knotweed started to cause a lot of problems for McGregor‘s Dublin project in September. Japanese knotweed was discovered to be growing on the project site. The city council notified McGregor and the project’s developers upon the observation and requested them to provide a strategy for eliminating the dangerous plant.

The developers submitted the needed plan in an 18-page report; outlining their approach to getting rid of the knotweed on their property. There has been quite a back-and-forth between the city council and McGregor over his large-scale undertaking. It seems like the Irishman’s project is a breeding ground for issues in one form or another.
