Paddy Pimblett went off on MMA journalist Ariel Helwani in his latest podcast episode with Dana White. ‘The Baddy’ didn’t hold back when he attacked Helwani, leveling some serious criticism at his journalistic integrity and accusing him of profiting off of other fighters. Responding to the accusation, Ariel Helwani clapped back at Pimblett with over an hour-long video on YouTube. The MMA journalist has set the record straight on his earnings and ‘biasness’ of which ‘The Baddy’ accused him.
Ariel Helwani most recently took home the Journalist of the Year honor at the 14th annual World MMA Awards, in contrast to Pimblett‘s jabs about Helwani’s journalistic credentials.

Ariel Helwani brings answers for Paddy Pimblett
In the recent video posted on MMAFightingonSBN, Helwani stated that if such a thing (being accused) happened before, he might have taken offense to it, but now he was just letting things roll off his back. However, Helwani stated that everything aside, the lies bother him the most. The 40-year-old went on a record saying the claims made by Paddy Pimblett were completely false.
“In my entire career, dating back to 2006, I have not earned a single penny from YouTube off of any of the MMA stuff that I put out there. And I stress ‘MMA’ and I’ll tell you why…,” said Helwani.
Helwani further added that he works on a contract. And in no way profits out off of any videos or milestone. He is assigned a particular pay, and that is what he ends up earning at the end of the day. No more. No less.
“This show, I don’t earn a single dime off of any views and the downloads of the show. This is the truth.” Helwani further added, “I have a contract and I make the exact same amount and I have never even gotten a bonus. I’ve never had a great year and someone’s like your views were X higher you did better than we projected. I have never even profited in that way.”

Ariel Helwani also addressed the claims of being called a ‘biased content creator’ by Pimblett. Stated that he was one of the very first supporters of ‘The Baddy’ and challenged the UFC fighter to prove where he was biased.
Helwani supported Pimblett all the way
Helwani acknowledged the fact that there were certain UFC fighters that he turned to after they became big names. But that was not the case with Paddy Pimblett. “If there’s one guy, if there’s one guy you could say I’ve been talking about long before he was even on the UFC radar, it’s Paddy Pimblett! That’s what’s so crazy about this whole story.”

He further added, “Not him. I was talking about him well before he even made it to the UFC. Because I was interested in him, because he had this magnetic personality, because he was fun, he had a cool name, a cool look, a cool accent, a fun style. Back when no one was talking about him, at least not on shows like this.”
On the professional front, Paddy Pimblett is set to face Jared Gordon at UFC 282 on December 10.
