Jon Jones is arguably one of the GOATs of the sport. What a good deal of fans might not know about him is that he also was the youngest fighter ever, to win a championship in the UFC. Recently, a video was shared by a Brazilian MMA fighter and former UFC heavyweight champion. He remembered his fight with Jon Jones that took place 10 years ago. The caption of the video was an encouragement sent to his former rival, ‘Bones’. To go out and be aggressive like a lion was the message. The former heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort claimed that Jon Jones was the greatest UFC fighter and called him his hardest competitor.

Vitor Vieira Belfort, who is tied for the third-highest finish in UFC, posted a video on Twitter that showed glimpses of a fight where Belfort was seen against ‘Bones’.

Vitor Belfort fought his last against Lyoto Machida at UFC 224 in 2018. He lost the fight and announced retirement after the fight. His career record reads, 26-14-1. While Jon Jones looks forward to an important year in his career, words of encouragement from Belfort will only pick him up.

Jon Jones set to face Cyril Gane
At the beginning of this year, Jon Jones announced his goals for the year in style. His focus was the courage to announce it out in public was praised by fans and experts. Jones is now set to face #1 heavyweight fighter Cyril Gane at UFC 285. The event is scheduled for the 5th of March.
While Jones is coming to the fight with an exceptional career record of 26 wins and 1 loss. The French hope comes in to fight ‘Bones’ with a record that reads 11-1-0.
