The Irishman was expected to be making his big comeback against Michael Chandler in UFC 300. However, a recent revelation has left the MMA community disheartened. John Kavanagh, Conor McGregor’s longstanding coach, shared that UFC wasn’t considering having “The Notorious” headline the historic pay-per-view event tentatively set for April 2024. Instead, Dana White and the UFC were eyeing a later summer date for McGregor’s much-anticipated comeback fight.

While it’s just an additional three months, it does feel like a bit of a downer. McGregor has already endured a two-year long hiatus due to rehab and numerous delays, often linked to drug testing intricacies. Fans have been eagerly awaiting his return, and any further wait can be a tad frustrating.

Despite the hubbub, McGregor’s return is yet to be confirmed via valid sources and UFC might be listening to what fans has to say.

Colby Covington thinks Leon Edwards cry too much for the title

In his recent remarks leading up to their highly anticipated showdown, Colby Covington didn’t mince words when discussing the current Welterweight champion, Leon Edwards. Covington asserted that, in his view, Edwards hasn’t earned the right to hold the Welterweight title. Covington told UFC“He had the right matchups at the right time to get to that point in his career,”

He further added “He just cried ‘I deserve this, I deserve that’ instead of just going out there and working for it or earning it like I did. I had to earn it the hard way. No one gave me this spot to fight for the undisputed title. I had to earn it. I had to go the unconventional way because the straight-ahead way wasn’t available. He didn’t earn it the hard way like I did, and on Dec. 16 he’s going to find out that he’s going to get broken by the American dream.”

Covington asserted that unlike him, Edwards got everything easy. It must be noted that Covington and Edwards are slated to headline the UFC 296 on December 16, 2023. With all the tensions building up to the bout, no doubt, it will be an interesting matchup to witness.
