Along with UFC, Bellator is amongst the biggest MMA promotion in the world. The promotion has contracts with many MMA legends, such as AJ McKee, Patricio Pitbull, and Cris Cyborg. MMA promotions are supposed to be fair to their fighters and contestants. But recently, a ONE championship fighter, Eddie Alvarez, shared an ugly side of MMA on his Twitter.

Alvarez talked about Bellator on his social media. He wrote, “If fans only knew some of the stuff that happens behind the scenes. Playing Hood rat games with a Hood rat, winnings not likely.”

Bellator proposed Patricky Pitbull, a fight against Eddie Alvarez. According to Patricio on MMA Fighting’s Portuguese-language podcast Trocação Franca, Bellator offered Patricky free training for this fight and wanted him to beat Alvarez.

According to the source, Eddie Alvarez was set to compete in his last fight at Bellator and Bellator wanted Patricky to face him. However, the deal did not go through.

Eddie Alvarez tweeted this incident to expose the corruption in the business, that fans are unaware of. He wrote,” They didn’t know I had somebody on the inside that told all their moves beforehand. I don’t miss this time of my life but it helped me navigate the dangerous jungle more effectively. I’m thankful this happened. It almost bankrupted me but I learned ‘Understand your enemy as well as yourself and Victory is inevitable’.”

Eddie Alvarez is a former UFC and Bellator contender. Alvarez is the former lightweight champion at Bellator as well as the UFC. As of November 2021, the fighter has a professional record of a whopping 30 wins and 8 losses. Many consider him to be one of the top lightweight fighters in MMA history.

Alvarez has beaten many renowned fighters throughout his career. These include names like Justin Gaethje, Michael Chandler, and Rafael dos Anjos. At 37 years of age, Alvarez still fights for ONE Championship.
