The NBA star cross-questioned the interviewer, asking him if he gets a promotion every year. “Do you get promotion every year? No, right? So every year you work is a failure? Yes or no? No!”

He highlighted that just as the interviewer does not consider every year without a promotion as a failure, so too should his previous season not be deemed as such. Further, Antetokounmpo emphasized that athletes work relentlessly toward their goals, and setbacks should be viewed as stepping stones to success.

“Every year you work towards something, towards a goal, which is to get a promotion, to be able to take care of your family. It’s not a failure, it’s steps to success”, said the NBA player. Lastly, Antetokounmpo referenced basketball legend Michael Jordan‘s career, pointing out that even with six championships in 15 years.
