LeBron James backs Kamala Harris, but is he out of touch with the real America?

LeBron James has weighed in on the 2024 Presidential race and publicly endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. The NBA mega-star was apparently so put off by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s controversial set at Donald Trump’s recent rally in New York that he tweeted his full support for the sitting Vice President. But former UFC champion Aljamain Sterling has taken exception with the four-time NBA finals winner.

‘Aljo’ quote tweeted James’ endorsement of Harris, agreeing with the Laker that Hinchcliffe’s jokes crossed a line. However, he disagreed with James on his endorsement of Harris, and thus endorsed Donald Trump by implication, even if he didn’t do so explicitly. “Love you on the court king, but nah. We need the country as whole to be elevated. But yes, the timing of Tony with these jokes were terrible and not the right setting,” wrote Sterling.

Of course, it is not surprising to see Sterling endorse Donald Trump. After all, the former President may be the most divisive figure among the general public, but enjoys immense love and support from the UFC world. From Dana White, who is very close friends with Trump to the UFC fans, who have been known to give the Republican Presidential candidate standing ovations when he attends UFC events.

Sterling, like many of his UFC peers, apparently supports Trump. Although he is nowhere near as vociferous in his support for the former President like some of his peers like Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal. But LeBron James is not the only huge superstar who has endorsed Harris in the past few days.

LeBron James’ Kamala Harris endorsement preceded by Hollywood royalty’s

Donald Trump has been endorsed by heavy-hitters like tech titan Elon Musk and former WWE superstar Hulk Hogan. While the Presidential race may be poised on a knife’s edge, Harris has a clear advantage as far as the endorsements go. Just recently, she received the public support of bodybuilding royalty, Hollywood superstar, and former Republican governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday.

‘The Terminator’ star took to Twitter, where he put out a rather lengthy post, endorsing Harris because “I will always be an American before I am a Republican.” This was followed by the Avengers assembling for the first time after ‘Endgame’ to endorse Harris on Friday.

Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, and Don Cheadle hopped on a video call to put their weight behind Kamala Harris and called on their fans to vote for her. How much these endorsements help the Democratic nominee will become clear this Monday as the polls open, but in terms of who has the support of more celebrities, that is clearly Kamala Harris. But the UFC still remains an island for Trump, as Sterling’s tweet has indicated.
