Sometimes, it seems like deciding the true undisputed MMA GOAT is a more difficult task than Mars colonization! While there have been many legends in the fighting world, the MMA community has not been able to decide who the greatest of all time is.

However, there have been many names that can fit this profile. Jon Jones and Georges St-Pierre are two of the fighters that the majority of fans keep in the GOAT debate. Both these fighters have dominated their respective divisions for years as undisputed champions.

While GSP has been retired for years now, Jones made a comeback earlier this year, capturing the UFC heavyweight title with a dominant performance. However, a UFC veteran still does not believe that ‘Bones’ is the greatest ever!

Chael Sonnen snubs Jon Jones to crown Georges St-Pierre as the GOAT

Right at the beginning of the video, Chael Sonnen compared Jones with all-time greats of other sports like LeBron James and Tiger Woods. “Jon Jones has done what LeBron has done. Very easily could argue that he’s done what Simone has done, what Tiger (Woods) has done. You could make those arguments.”

But later in the same video, ‘The American Gangster’ surprisingly chose Georges St-Pierre as the greatest. “Who is the greatest ever? The answer is Georges St-Pierre. Why? There’s an answer to that and a lot of it had to do with luck, a lot of it had to do with the matches that he was able to get.”

Why? Because according to Sonnen, GSP had a phenomenal job of defeating every elite fighter of the generation prior to him. Moreover, the former middleweight champ also ruled over his division to the point where he defeated many opponents twice.

“Georges St-Pierre proved to be better than all those who came before him. That’s what defeating Matt Hughes represented. He showed that he could beat yesteryear, he then beat everybody of his day to the point that he had to go through them a second time.”

Chael Sonnen predicts the fate of Jon Jones vs Sergei Pavlovich

While Jones is probably fighting Stipe Miocic in what could be his last fight, there is another potential opponent for the UFC heavyweight champion making a quick name for himself – Sergei Pavlovich.

With 6 straight 1 round KO wins, Pavlovich seems like the best opponent for Jones, according to many fans. While some think ‘Bones’ will be able to defeat him, others think Pavlovich can do the unthinkable.

Discussing this, Sonnen gave a short but very confident statement. “Jon whips Sergei *ss. Whip! Jon wouldn’t lose a round.”
