One of the major reasons why Joe Rogan and his podcast, the JRE are at the highest echelons is because of the diversity of content. The conversation and the guests who appear on the show are of such a wide variety that anyone who’s listening could find something of interest being talked about. 

Furthermore, there’s no surprise that the American podcaster is a massive sports enthusiast. Although famous for being a UFC commentator, the 55-year-old through his podcast has shown that he’s always up for a conversation about other sports and athletes.

The podcast has also featured a number of prominent sports figures as guests. Moreover, during their conversations, listeners get to know information that they’re otherwise unaware of. Similar was the case when the NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. appeared on the show years ago.

Joe Rogan learned how hot a car got during a race

On show #1196 of The Joe Rogan Experience, NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Joe Rogan sat for a conversation. During the prolonged talk came a point where the driver explained how the temperature inside the car rises to 150 degrees during a race. Meanwhile, Earnhardt also mentioned that a driver loses around 10 pounds during a race.

It began with Rogan asking, “You must be sweating like a pig inside those things [cars] right?” To this, the professional driver replied, “you sweat a ton. You lose anywhere around six to eight pounds a race. It’s all just water weight, and you put it right back on in a day or two.”

Joe Rogan then curiously questioned, “is it really hot in the car?”

Earnhardt replied, “yeah, in Chicago this year 150 degrees in the car.”

Rogan was shocked to learn that. Moreover, he compared the car to a sauna and said, “WOAH! That’s a sauna”. Nevertheless, the driver explained that there potential risk of drivers blacking out in the future and that he was concerned about the drivers going through so much.

He said, “if we have 150 [degrees] in-car temperature. I think that we need to think about how to try not to have that. … Try to do something. Is that really necessary that we put drivers through that?”

Earnhardt then went on to explain that factors like a heated engine and the heat radiating from the brakes contribute to the heating of the car.
