Former light heavyweight champions Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka, are going to step into the Octagon at UFC 311, and looks like MMA pundits are preferring Hill in that electrifying matchup. The 12-2-0 light heavyweight is looking forward to returning to action after a disappointing outing against Alex Pereira at UFC 300. Interestingly, even Prochazka lost to ‘Poatan’ in his last outing as well. So naturally, the duo are looking for a bounce back from their respective previous setbacks to the current 205-pound king.
Even though ‘Sweet Dreams’ lost against the Brazilian, it seems like UFC pundits are vouching for him to win this match. Among those backing him, we have Mike Tyson’s legendary coach Teddy Atlas. Let’s see what advice he had for Jamahal Hill.

The International Boxing Hall of Famer joined his son Teddy III Atlas for a talk on the highlights of UFC in 2024. During the same conversation, the fights for the first half of 2025 were also a topic of discussion. Interestingly, Atlas Sr. took Jamahal Hill’s side against Jiri Prochazka. He gave some tips to ‘ Sweet Dreams’ on how to defeat Prochazka in the upcoming fight.
He said, “You know Jiri can reach in a little bit. And makes himself vulnerable to a counterattack from a guy like Hill who’s very capable of throwing counter shots because he has got good length. You know he has got good height, he knows how to control range. He will engage you, he will give up his height but I’ve seen him, where he can be disciplined too, where he can stay back. And he can allow you to make a mistake where he can walk you into a counter.”
He said that if he was cornering for Hill, he would look out for any slip-ups and mistakes from Prochazka that ‘Sweet Dreams’ can capitalize on. On the other end, even UFC fighter Kevin Holland is supporting Hill for this fight as well.

Kevin Holland is leaning towards Jamahal Hill for UFC 311
‘Sweet Dreams’ recently faced backlash for his feud with the Brazilian fighter. However, his skill sets cannot be overlooked despite the confrontation (and losing to him at UFC 300). So, on the same note, Holland showed his inclination to support Hill while speaking to Mike Perry.
He said, “Come on bro, you already know who I’m going with. Jamahal Hill, that’s my brother. When you look at the way people fight and stuff like that, it’s like people act like I don’t know why they give Jamahal such a tough time. He lost to Alex Pereira probably the number one pound for pound right now.”

Jamahal Hill seems to not have forgotten his loss and humiliation because he was in a scuffle recently with ‘Poatan’ at the UFC PI. Not only did the fans troll Hill for issuing a challenge and then walking away, but the Czech former champ joined them too. Flashback to a few weeks back— the duo were engaged in a fiery argument at the UFC Performance Institute that had gone viral among MMA fanbase. Jiri Prochazka criticized Hill for giving up on the opportunity to settle the score by stepping inside the cage.
But he has the opportunity now to fight Hill inside the Octagon. Who will be the victor between the two men who fell to the same champ? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
