Not everyone has an appetite for combat sports. To be a UFC official is no easy task. Officiating the match at his or her own risk and ensuring that fair play is maintained – it takes a fighter to keep fighters in line. One of the greatest MMA officials to have stepped in the ring, Marc Goddard, recently Tweeted about fighters being berated upon losing a fight.
Goddard has a record as a professional fighter that stands at 7-6-1 and has a 2nd-degree black belt in BJJ. Now, he is a well-respected global MMA official. Goddard recently spoke up on a sensitive topic that is being talked about in the MMA circle these days. The fans had a few things to say and they let their opinions know.

Marc Goddard is widely considered to be one of the people at the forefront of the industry. He has been with the sport for the longest time, both as a fighter and as an official. He has chosen regulation as his specialty and does that well.

Of recent, UFC fighters are being grilled hard by fans and other personalities on the internet, if they were to lose a fight. In fact, sometimes it escalates beyond the point of criticism and to the point of abuse. Marc Goddard had a few things to say to the people in general, and he said it via a heartfelt Tweet.

Not The First Time – Marc Goddard’s refereeing applauded by legends
Marc Goddard has been hailed for his impeccable sense of regulating a fight to ensure fair competition. He is one of the most highly respected and sought-after UFC referees today.

Back in 2022, during the UFC 272 co-main event fight between Rafael dos Anjos and Renato Moicano, Goddard made some crucial calls that allows Moicano to go on, despite being beaten down by dos Anjos initially. The fight went into decision and dos Anjos won the war.
His sense of control throughout the match was applauded by the likes of ‘Big’ John McCarthy, UFC fighter Henry Cejudo, UFC commentator Jon Anik and UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard.
