Tate apparently was able to glean the future of the highly publicized UFC 229 bout between the ?Notorious? and ?The Eagle?. In the interview, he draws a distinction between the functioning of the two Lightweight fighters. The inferences began with his take on money as a motivating factor. Then he also analyzed Conor McGregor?s lifestyle.

He said, ?As for Conor, he?s selling whisky, he?s doing this, he?s doing that, and he?s running all over? acting crazy.?

Tate then contrasted this with Nurmagomedov. Speaking on McGregor fighting ?The Eagle?, he said, ?And then he?s trying to fight a guy who?s a strict Muslim?.he ain?t selling whisky. He?s doing nothing but hit the gym. I knew he would take a whooping.?

Tate conveyed it was this difference in demeanor that allowed him to predict the outcome of the fight. He even ventures to say that ?Mystic Mac? himself was aware of it. He continued, ?There was no surprise. I knew it. I knew it and I think deep down Conor knew it.”

Before analyzing the events of the main event of UFC 229, Tate delved into how money affects performance. He candidly said, ?If you give me a million dollars to fight, I’ll be motivated.? He elaborated, ?But in kickboxing, I won’t get that much. For my comeback fight, I?ll get maybe 30 grand, which is good money. But I make that every two weeks doing other s**t.?

He emphasized how, in such a case, returning to the fighting world is a decision motivated by passion and not money. Tate continued, ?Money isn’t motivating me, so I am actually keeping my mind off the money to go back to fight.? He also clarified that in such a scenario, he is able to make more money by not fighting.
