The UFC 297 press conference for Sean Strickland made quite an interesting wave around the MMA world. Strickland unsurprisingly had some controversial takes which had some people call him and Dana White out for the middleweight’s comments.
A podcast host by the name, of Dan Le Batard called out Dana White and the UFC for not taking strict action against the former UFC champion. Batard in his podcast had some pretty rash words for the UFC, which led to former UFC light heavyweight Jamahal Hill defending Dana White and the UFC in his podcast.

Jamahal Hill in his recent podcast interview, responded to Dan Le Batard’s comments. Hill didn’t take too well of Batard’s comments as he responded by saying that the UFC allows for free speech and was disappointed with the podcast host’s comments about calling his sport “gutter”.
Hill voiced, “You got this is now right out the gate… We can’t say nothing analysts say something or like anybody these days clearly don’t believe in free speech. So the base very basic constitutional rights that people should have.”
Hill went on to blast the 55-year-old by claiming that he doesn’t believe in free speech, as he said, “They clearly don’t believe in those. What he’s doing right now is calling for Sean to be reprimanded because he disagrees with what he says. Because he has a different opinion and a different view than what you may have.”
“You feel that the people that Sean makes money with or has a way of creating living or anything that can affect his life should do something about it,” ‘Sweet Dreams’ noted as he called out Dan Le Batard for trying to cancel Sean Strickland over speaking his mind.
Sean Strickland is one of the most vocal fighters in the promotion so it’s not surprising to see some people go against some of his comments. However, what did Dana White actually say to trigger the “LeBatard Show” crew as much as it did?

During the post-fight press conference, Dana White was asked about the comments made by Strickland and asked why he gives his fighters a Long leash, implying the freedom he gives his fighters to say whatever they want.
White responded by saying, “First of all, I don’t give anybody a leash. A leash? Free speech… To control what people say and to tell people what to believe, I don’t tell any other f***ng human being what to say, what to think and there’s no leashes on any of them. It’s ridiculous to say I give somebody a leash. Free speech, brother. People can say whatever they want and they can believe whatever they want.”

The 54-year-old has always given the fighters in his promotion to the freedom to speak their minds. He believes that as a promotion that revolves around something as dangerous as fighting, being hurt by words seems to be the last thing he’s worried about.
