“He Almost Kicked Me Out”- Shakira Made an Embarrassing Confession Regarding Her Kids’ Taekwondo Tournament in a Resurfaced Video on ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’

Shakira is one of the most recognizable pop stars in the world. After her split with longtime partner and Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique in 2022. She got full custody of their two boys, Sasha, 8, and Milan, 10.

But she is just as doting a mother as any, and embarrasses her kids, as all loving mothers do. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, the Colombian star revealed how she was almost kicked out of a taekwondo tournament that her son was participating in.

Shakira describes almost being kicked out from son’s taekwondo tournament

Shakira spoke to Fallon about how she sometimes embarrasses her children due to her enthusiasm and love for them. “I embarrass my kids. Both of them actually practice taekwondo. And whenever they participate in a tournament, I scream like crazy woman,” she said.

While attending one of her son’s Taekwondo tournaments, she started cheering for him loudly. This prompted the Dojo master to warn her twice before nearly kicking her out. “And the Dojo Master last time gave me 2 warnings… He almost kicked me out, because I was like, kick him in the head, kick him in the head,” she told Fallon.

Shakira may be a global phenomenon to everybody else. But, it is heartwarming to see that to her children, she is just a loving mother who embarrasses them occasionally. 

Shakira and Gerard Pique’s relationship

Shakira and Gerard Pique first met on the sets of her music video for ‘Waka Waka’, prior to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The Spanish football star was crucial in helping Spain win the trophy, and the couple confirmed their relationship on social media in 2011. In January 2013, they welcomed their first child, Milan, in Barcelona, Spain. She admitted that motherhood was challenging, but praised her partner for his care and support. In January 2015, the couple was blessed with their second son, Sasha.

Shakira suffered a hemorrhage of her right vocal cord in 2017 and admitted that losing her ability to sing was traumatic and “unbearable”. She would later tell the Guardian that she was “so pessimistic” and “a bitter person to be around” during the ordeal. They announced their separation in June 2022, with Shakira getting full custody of their children. Pique can visit the children as often as he wants, though.
