A new face was spotted in the Haas F1 paddock on Saturday. Not a guy that drives a racing car, but one who is well known for his exploits in an octagon. Yes, that’s right, UFC fighter Conor McGregor dropped at Monaco to support not Ferrari, not Mercedes or Red Bull but Haas.


Haas being an American team has an ever-growing fanbase as the United States’ love for the sport is increasing. While they have not performed in the past few years, the team has exceeded expectations this time around.

Conor McGregor and Haas linkup is, however, not the one we expected. Going by the looks of it, he does seem invested with the team. While the Irishman enjoyed the show from his yacht, he also gave his thoughts on how the American team could fare during the race.

Newest Haas fan Conor McGregor reveals his predictions for the race

Conor McGregor is attending his first Grand Prix. And he witnessed some quality action, as the qualifying on Saturday proved to be a cagey affair. He also made everyone aware that he was only supporting Haas this time around.

He said, “It’s great to be here. I enjoyed this qualifying round. It’s great to be here at my first Grand Prix in Monaco. I’m honored. I’m here supporting Team Haas.”

 

Both the Haas drivers went into Q2, but they unfortunately missed out on a Q3 appearance. However, the UFC star is confident in the team he supports and hopes for a twist on Sunday.

“I’m here for team Haas. And my confidence today after qualifying round, you know, our cars are exceptional, I believe. You know there’s a crash, damaged a two top team’s car. Now I think there is something special brewing and it’s for Haas. I’m rooting for Haas, ” he added.

He also heaped praise on Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen. Schumacher Jr. is yet to score a point in F1 and he will hope to deliver in front of McGregor.

The Irishman stated, “Racing royalty, racing royalty. You know what I mean. I mean, it’s written, I can feel it in the air for the boys. I’m rooting for them and wish them all the best.”
