EA Sports is all set to drop EA UFC 5 this month, and to stoke the flames of excitement, they unveiled an image of Chimaev in the game. However, the fan reactions have been a mixed bag, to say the least!

It’s been three long years since the release of EA UFC 4, and fight enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series. According to EA’s Instagram post, UFC 5 promises significant graphics upgrades thanks to the Frostbite engine.  EA hoped to showcase the game’s improvements by sharing a side-by-side comparison of Khamzat Chimaev in UFC 4 and UFC 5. Here’s a glimpse of their reactions:

Fans were vocal about the game mechanics and the lack of depth available in the game and made their disappointment known.

Makes no difference if the game mechanics are the same”

“No pride mode, no realistic knock outs, no press conferences for career mode, same hairstyles and tattoos for 3 games straight, no Dana White/Manager mode, No realistic ground and pound, No Voice Chat for online, no trunk colors for online CAF. But we still got fornite emotes, an in game currency, holographic shorts and monkey/lion masks. Hire some people who actually like MMA and UFC. (Like THQ) It’s getting tiring.”

Khamzat Chimaev’s appearance also drew criticism with some comparing the fighter to the comedic movie character, ‘Borat’.

“Bro looks like Borat”

“Looks worse bruh”

“Damn ya gave him hair and sweat that’s crazy”

Many fans were also quick to call out EA for a perceived lack of effort and made it known that previous entries in the series were significantly better in their opinion.

“Wow, now imagine if y’all put effort into your games”

“UFC 2 primarily the best one then they just messed it up in 3 4 and potentially 5. EA makes no sense man”

“Ufc undisputed 3 gameplay will never be topped”

The overarching sentiment seems to be that the game should focus more on improving gameplay rather than investing excessive effort in visual aesthetics. Additionally, there is nostalgia for the earlier UFC games, with fans feeling that subsequent releases have not lived up to its standards. These quotes underscore the diverse expectations and demands of the UFC gaming community.

UFC 5 disappoints MMA’s PC gaming fandom

UFC 5 aims to expand the Real Impact System and harness the Frostbite Engine’s power. It introduces features like cinematic K.O. replays, doctor’s checks to assess injuries, fresh strikes and hit reactions, seamless submissions, and an immersive Fight Week experience featuring Alter Egos. These enhancements were meant to create a more immersive and authentic combat experience.

But amidst the anticipation, a group of dedicated gamers have raised their voices in discontent. UFC games have traditionally favored PlayStation and Xbox platforms, leaving PC users longing for a slice of the action. Their demand for a PC version of UFC 5 underscores the desire among PC gaming enthusiasts for a realistic and immersive fight simulation. While disappointment looms, fans are hopeful that developers will heed their call and open the doors of the Octagon to PC users!
