The lightweight maestro recently attempted to answer your imagination when he grappled with a 4-time winner of the World’s Strongest Man. A much smaller Poirier attempted a choke on the super heavyweight and made him tap.
In the following video, though, his opponent turned the tables on him. The former interim lightweight champion didn’t have everything going his way as Poirier tasted the dirt. He put his weight over Poirier and that was the end for him.
Nate Diaz too attempted for the glory
Poirier wasn’t alone, there was another UFC star plying his trade against a much bigger opponent. Before Poirier’s efforts, a video popped up showing Nate Diaz grappling with the bodybuilder and US power-lifting record holder, BIG BOY.
What’s next for Poirier and Diaz?
Poirier and Conor McGregor have agreed to their trilogy fight. They are slated to compete at UFC 264 on July 10th. This fight comes on the back of a 2nd-round demolition that the American brawler inflected upon the Irishman.
This was their second fight after they first met in 2014, where ‘The Notorious’ one knocked Poirier out in the 1st round.
Meanwhile, Diaz has a fight against Leon Edwards to look forward to at UFC 262. This will mark his long-awaited return to the octagon. It will be 5 round, non-title co-main event.
