Chan Sung Jung is all set to make his comeback inside the octagon for UFC. ‘The Korean Zombie’ lost his battle against Brian Ortega last time he stepped foot inside the ring.

The loss proved too costly, as it was the battle for a shot at the title. This devastating loss also ended his two-match winning streak.

‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung to take on Dan Ige on his return

In the latest development, Brett Okamoto says, “Per sources, Korean Zombie vs. Dan Ige will headline UFC Fight Night on June 19. Ige has called for the fight several times.

“Zombie still in title mix, but needs a win coming off a loss to Ortega. Two hard-hitters at 145. I like it. Who wins?

Dan Ige is at number 8th position in the Featherweight division right now. He is coming in this fight on the back of a spectacular first-round knockout win over Gavin Tucker at UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs Muhammad.

Ige made quick work of Tucker in 22 seconds with a knockout blow in the very 1st round. After that, he called out the Korean Zombie to face him in his next match. He has lost only one of his last 8 fights, and that loss came against Calvin Kattar.

Sung prior to his defeat against Ortega had 1st-round stoppage victories over Renato Moicano and Frankie Edgar. He lost to Ortega in a unanimous decision.

Can Dan Ige finally get his moment in the sunshine?

Ige is one of the rising contenders in the Featherweight division, and after his latest win he called out any higher-ranked opponent to face him next, and the first name he has in his mind is the Korean Zombie.

“50K” won 6 straight bouts ahead of his loss against Kattar, but quickly gets back into the winning form with the KO of Tucker in just 22 seconds at UFC Vegas 21. A win against Zombie will make his way forward towards the title shot much easier.
