Performance Enhancing Drugs are a serious problem in sports in general, and combat sports in particular. While some experts are in favor of allowing the use of substances that are banned now, most point to the disproportionate advantage that their usage gives a fighter, thus making a fair contest impossible.

Along with that, these substances have adverse effects on the athlete’s body. Polar opposite to those who want to see them legalized, some have even called for their use to be declared a criminal offense on part of the fighter ‘committing fraud’, according to them. And in the run-up to their boxing match on October 14, Dillon Danis and Logan Paul are having disagreements on drug testing.

Recent reports have suggested that Misfits Boxing promoter Mams Taylor has confirmed to Mirror Boxing that the pair would undergo drug testing to screen for banned substances ahead of their grudge match at the AO Arena in Manchester. But, Danis, amid rumors he is pulling out of the fight, is not happy with the development.

“This is nonsense. Another scam by Logan Paul to pretend he’s clean. Setting a specific day and time for a pi** test is the easiest to beat in all of sports, especially for someone like him with experience. It’s why the UFC switched to USADA,” he tweeted.

Danis complained that this was just a way for Logan Paul to appear that he is not on PEDs as it is quite easy to pass a drug test when the date and time is already known. He pointed to the UFC switching to USADA, who conduct surprise drug tests on fighters in their pool and have stringent rules, as an example.

Interestingly, Danis’ teammate and friend Conor McGregor, was slated to fight Michael Chandler in his comeback bout this December. But recent announcements of upcoming UFC events by Dana White have almost confirmed his comeback will not happen this year. And most think this is because ‘The Notorious’ has not entered USADA’s testing pool yet, which out-of-pool fighters returning to fight in the UFC have to do at least six months in advance.

Logan Paul has been accused of using PEDs by many ever since he joined the WWE. Fans and analysts point to the drastic improvement in Paul’s physique in a short period of time as evidence. This is why Danis is upset at the development as he feels that this will give Paul’s claims of being clean legitimacy, as the WWE star could use tricks to avoid a positive test.
