Jake Paul and his older brother Logan Paul took the internet by storm when they stepped into the world of boxing. However, the former interim UFC welterweight champion, Colby Covington, had a different set of views than most. Even though he admitted that the brothers were rising in popularity, he believed that it was all for the wrong reasons.
In a recent talk with Dan Dakich, on OutKick, Covington revealed his thoughts about the Paul brothers. The veteran mixed martial artist didn’t back away from dissing the YouTubers for being the side shows and not fighting people from their own weight class or age. On top of that, he also opined to fighting the two of them inside the squared ring.

During the conversation on OutKick, Dakich talked about Logan and Jake Paul being “all the rage”. Thereafter, he asked for the MMA fighter’s opinion on them. ‘Chaos’ said, “I mean, they’re all the rage not for the right reasons. No, they’re not real fighters. I mean, they can’t win real fights against tough fighters. So, you know, I don’t know… They’re the little circus side shows, you know.”
Covington continued that the Paul brothers fought unsanctioned fights against fighters who were aged 50 years, or were 50 lbs lighter than them. He questioned why the two didn’t fight anyone from their own weight category. Then, he speculated that they might be scared. Nevertheless, he was ready to fight them.
When asked whether he would fight them in the ring, Covington replied, “Of course I’d fight them. It’d be an easy fight. They’re little Disney stars. I’d break them in half. If I dropped MAGA bombs on them for one punch, they’d run away crying to their mom. They’d be looking for a safe space. But I’m in the UFC. I’m a company man. I love the UFC, so I only want to fight the biggest and best fights the UFC has to offer. I don’t want to fight these little Disney ‘Lizzy McGuire’ stars.”
Covington doesn’t think Jake Paul is a real fighter
Back when Paul lost a fight to Tommy Fury, ‘Chaos’ wasted no time in calling out the YouTuber turned professional boxer. He took to social media and claimed that Paul was not a “real fighter”. Instead, he believed that the only real fight with him was when he tried to “pronounce letters with that lisp”.

While the UFC welterweight fighter didn’t have strong opinions regarding the fighting prowess of the Paul brothers, the younger Paul successfully defeated strong names from the UFC world. Nevertheless, it all landed him in even deeper quicksand. And Covington wouldn’t leave it at rest.
