YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul took Twitter and applied a pressure tactic on Dana White after issuing a challenge to the UFC boss. Paul called out White and proposed that Dana White improve fighter pay, provide revenue sharing and long-term medical care for UFC fighters.
In turn, ‘The Problem Child’ said he would walk away from the sport of boxing and face Jorge Masvidal in the UFC.
Happy new year @danawhite. Here is a real challenge for you…
I will immediately retire from boxing and fight Jorge Masvidal in the UFC if you agree to: pic.twitter.com/bJScDVITvL

In a subsequent tweet, Jake Paul tagged several big-time UFC fighters like Conor McGregor and Jon Jones in an attempt to pressurize White. He even included former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov into the mix. Paul wanted all the marquee UFC stars to speak out on his offer and hopefully ‘make a difference’.

I got enemies, got a lot of enemies,
gotta lotta people tryna drain me from this pro fighter energy— Jake Paul (@jakepaul) January 1, 2022
One of the fighters mentioned in Jake Paul’s post was Khamzat Chimaev and ‘Borz’ was quick to reply. The Swedish-Russian fighter seemed more interested to scrap with Jake Paul than work towards reform. He shared a picture of Jake Paul’s brother, Logan Paul who was in the gym when ‘Borz’ was training.

Dana White responds to Jake Paul
Jake Paul was certainly successful in getting the attention of UFC President Dana White who sent out his response. He slammed Paul for not accepting the initial terms of his challenge and then suggested that Paul should get into the fight business himself to truly help fighters. Not to mention, he brought up Paul’s rather shocking pay-per-view buy numbers of his most recent fight.

“What you and the warlock should be focused on is your business. You’re tanking. You can’t sell PPVs. You’re calling out Jorge Masvidal because he’s a pay-per-view superstar. Nate Diaz, Conor McGregor, Mike Tyson.”
“These are all superstars, you’re not. I’m ready to roll buddy. I don’t use cocaine. Do you use steroids? Let’s do this Jake.”

It’s clear from Dana White’s perspective that Jake Paul is merely using the names of massive superstars to bolster his own brand. According to White, Paul needs such marquee athletes to help sell a fight on PPV. It remains to be seen if any other mentioned superstar like Khabib Nurmagomedov or Conor McGregor choose to reply.
