Eddie Hall will face Hafthor Bjornsson in what is dubbed as ‘The Heaviest Boxing Match in History’. The two have earlier competed against each other in the World’s Strongest Man competition in 2017, where Hall came first and the Icelander could manage the runners-up spot. However, Bjornsson also won the competition the very next year.

There have been longing speculations about a boxing match between the two strongmen. It was supposed to get through in September last year but got postponed because of Hall’s injury. Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall will make his boxing debut when he faces Bjornsson on March 19, 2022.

Amidst the hype, the popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast discussed the fight between the two. CrossFit legend, Mat Fraser joined Joe Rogan, who hosts the podcast, as they looked at Hall’s training clips. However, Rogan didn’t approve of his boxing technique and called him rudimentary and stiff.

In response, the British strongmen humbly opted to differ on Rogan’s views, while giving a sly warning to his opponent ‘The Mountain.’ “Look man, people can speculate, they can make assumptions, they can guess, they can do whatever they want, but I’m knocking Thor out. There’s no doubt in my mind,” said Hall in a Q&A video.

He claimed Rogan knows much about the sport, but not about him. “So, people can say whatever they want. I take no offense to Joe Rogan’s comments. He’s an experienced guy, he knows what he’s talking about, but he doesn’t know the full picture. You look at a few clips, you can’t make assumptions from that,” he added.

While being completely respectful to Rogan, the British strongman hoped his opponent gain confidence from his comments. He even showed the desire to become Rogan’s guest someday. He stated, “It doesn’t bother me in the slightest, it doesn’t put me off. I hope it gives Thor more confidence because he needs it. He’s in deep trouble. And I’d still love to go on The Joe Rogan Show and tell him a story for everyone to hear.”

Joe Rogan on Hafthor Bjornsson

His transformation and technique earned the praise of his opponent’s detractor, Joe Rogan. ‘The Mountain’ impressed Rogan with his physique, even suggesting further that he takes on YouTuber turned boxer, Logan Paul, next. Having defeated Devon Larratt in a boxing match previously, ‘Thor’ can be the favorite in his upcoming bout.

Fellow strongman Rob Kearney, who appeared on the Joe Rogan, also praised the Icelander’s transformation experience.
