An unusual rivalry has been set off in the combat sports world after UFC legend Chael Sonnen decided to share his views on Deontay Wilder’s news of free agency. MMA fans are well aware of Sonnen and how he doesn’t shy away from making controversial statements and forecasts. But most of his opinions are usually centered around MMA or specifically the UFC. Thus, it came as a surprise when the 45-year-old talked about Wilder and even criticized him for the news about his fight with Francis Ngannou. In response, the ‘Bronze Bomber‘ decided to completely let go and bashed the former MMA fighter, even undermining his credibility by calling him foolish.

Although Sonnen has not issued a response yet; knowing how clever he is with words, MMA fans will be eagerly waiting for the former heavyweight to upload another video on the topic soon.

While slamming the idea that people consider free agency as a good thing, Sonnen states: “Guys always think that’s [free-agent status] going to be a positive. No one wants that guy [Wilder]. There is no promoter that wants to work with a guy that has a loyalty to no one.”

All this ensued after Ngannou’s response to the news of Wilder’s free agency broke out.

Would the proposed two-fight deal go ahead? Now that is a completely different discussion altogether.

Deontay Wilder blasts Sonnen, undermines the former UFC star

In response to the former UFC fighter’s criticism, the ‘Bronze Bomber’ expressed his discontent in typical Wilder fashion. He lashed out at Sonnen, calling him foolish, and also went on to say that he pays no heed to such an individual.

“Who is this guy again? When you’re successful, you don’t listen to the whispers or miserable people’s cries. I don’t listen to those things. I’ve been traveling too much, I’ve been handling business, I’ve been feeding my family. I haven’t been sitting around worrying about the foolishness, or the sounds of foolish people.” expressed Wilder.

He then added that since talking ‘foolish’ seemed to make money, he might hop on YouTube to do the same.

“For me, because I don’t make no money off of foolishness, I don’t entertain it. But I might need to start getting me a podcast and start making me some money off of YouTube.” stated the 37-year-old.
