Joe Rogan felt that the boxing match was a good setup for an eventual MMA fight in the future between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz. He commended Diaz for making it all the way and pouring it on Paul, despite most people writing him off before the fight. “Wow, I tell you what? That sets up an MMA fight for sure. If they wanna do it and make more money that makes it very interesting. That sets up an MMA fight for sure. That was impressive. And Diaz poured it on man, and many people felt Diaz was gonna get blown out, but he survived,” the Boston native said.

The UFC commentator was puzzled by the Stockton native’s hesitation to face Paul in the PFL, given the huge payday it comes with- “Jake does have a PFL contract, right? If he wants to fight Nate in an MMA fight and PFL comes with that long money, who f***ing knows? He’s saying I don’t wanna do that PFL s***. What does he mean by that mean? It’s an MMA fight,” he said.
