Conor McGregor was in attendance for the boxing bout between Anthony Joshua and Robert Helenius. As expected, he stole the limelight at London’s O2 arena. From his wild entry with ring girls to the bare-knuckle callout to KSI, ‘The Notorious’ was at his theatrical best. However, there was one moment that topped all. It was ‘AJ’ sipping on McGregor’s Forged Irish Stout!

The 35-year-old McGregor was a co-sponsor of the boxing event with his brand of stout beer called Forged Irish Stout. He also enjoyed the action while sitting in the front row. He had previously also sent Forged Irish Stout cans to the British boxer as a gift. But he forbade Joshua to be tempted by those before the showdown was over. Therefore, when Joshua made the victory lap, the Irish fighter stepped in and gave the boxer his first taste of the stout. However, the story does not end there.

It appears the heavyweight boxer developed an instant liking for the stout as he expressed a desire to enjoy it in a local pub. He expressed the same in the post-fight interview.

He declared, “I want a crateload shipped to Meriden. The Badger Pub. Where is Conor? Is he in here? Anyway, I want a crateload of free Forged shipped to the Badger Pub in Meriden. All the locals will be very, very happy.”

And it looks like Christmas arrived early for Joshua as McGregor happily obliged. The Dubliner turned to his Instagram handle and responded to Joshua’s request, who impressed him with his boxing skills. McGregor, in an Instagram story, shared Joshua’s post-fight comments and announced, “On route for the big man AJ The Badger Pub, Meriden.” He then took to the comments section of the post after fulfilling his promise to add a few kind words for him. McGregor wrote, “Done and done! What a fighter, what a man!

It is worth noting here that Forged Irish Stout came into prominence in late 2020 in McGregor’s own pub, The Black Forge, in Ireland. McGregor later went on to acquire a brewery and scale up production.
