By now, almost everyone in the MMA community is aware of the close friendship shared by Sean O’Malley and Jake Paul. In fact, they’re more than friends, as the duo created ‘W’, a male fragrance company, as business partners. So when O’Malley defended his bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili at the Las Vegas Sphere, Paul wanted to witness it live.

However, things were not as easy for him as they were for everyone else. Why? The UFC had banned Paul which enabled him to miss out on their events. Not one to be deterred by the ban, The Problem Child pulled a stunt that shocked many. The celebrity boxer recently uploaded a video where he revealed that he wore a disguise and managed to sneak into the arena to watch his friend live. He also uploaded a video of it that surely earned him a lot of views on Instagram. However, Dana White has now revealed that Paul was never actually banned by the UFC.

In the latest post-fight press conference of the Dana White Contender Series, the UFC CEO revealed that he had never banned Jake Paul and that the video was just a way for him to market himself. He said, “Yeah, listen. Oscar De La Hoya was there. Okay? Let’s put it that way. Nobody is banned from the UFC. Listen, that kid knows how to market and do his thing.” And in the end, he dropped the big verdict by saying, “But yeah. Jake Paul is welcome to come into UFC.”

However, Paul did more than just attend the event. To pull off the ultimate prank, the former Disney star took a selfie with Adin Ross and also went close to Dana White without getting recognized. Well, the UFC CEO surely wasn’t lying when he said Jake Paul knows how to market himself. That’s why he is now all geared up to face Boxing legend Mike Tyson in a one-on-one boxing contest.

Jake Paul aims to step up to the plate in his encounter against Mike Tyson

Friday, November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The former heavyweight world champion will have a risky test against a fighter 30 years younger. Iron Mike must undergo physical exams the day before the fight, and that will determine whether he is fit to perform it. In case he does not pass the test, the fight could be canceled. The fight had to be postponed from its initial date, July 20, because of Tyson’s health problems. The Texas Boxing Commission had agreed to classify the fight as professional but with some particularities: 14-ounce gloves and an extension of 8 rounds of 2 minutes each.

Iron Mike has a record of 50-6-0-2, with 44 wins before the limit. He knew how to be the most fearsome heavyweight in history, with amazing power and resilience. However, he also had his fair share of demons that did not allow him to extend his reign or his legacy. At 57 years old, he plans to get into the ring once, something that the boxing environment considers ‘unnecessary’. Jake Paul, the 27-year-old YouTuber turned boxer, has a 9-1 record. The only time he lost was to Tommy Fury—Tyson Fury’s brother—the only professional boxer he faced. So it should prove to be a relatively easy fight for Paul. But what do you think? Will he be able to beat the boxing GOAT? Let us know in the comments.
