Anderson Silva and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. clashed in the co-main event of the Tribute to the Kings event. Silva, the former UFC middleweight champion, entered the squared ring for the third time in his career. As for Chavez, he is a former WBC world champion.

The fight started with a round of feeling out process where both fighters measured their opponent up. Chavez landed a good left hook and a body shot on Silva. However, ‘The Spider’ impressed fans with his exceptional movement inside the boxing ring.

Silva got better during the second round, bringing his rhythm and fluid movement to the boxing ring as well. The UFC legend also landed some good shots on Chavez Jr. as well. It was an impressive showing from Silva in the second round, to say the least.

Silva showed off the signature movements of his UFC days during the third round. In what was typical showmanship from Silva, he stood at the corner and goaded JCC Jr.

Hence, ‘The Spider’ showed why he has been one of the biggest entertainers in combat sports throughout the years. Despite stepping into unknown territory, he was his usual self. In round 4, he started landing some fantastic shots on Chavez Jr.

The showmanship from ‘The Spider’ was enough to prove to the fans that he can be a competitive figure in the world of boxing as well.

Does Anderson Silva have a future in boxing?

At 46, Silva’s career in MMA might be over. He is no longer a UFC fighter. However, boxing might be the next home for the Brazilian legend. He proved that by being his usual self against a former world champion in Chavez Jr.

Silva showed he can hang in there with really high-caliber opponents. At one point, he was even dictating the fight. Currently, according to fans and experts, he is winning the fight. Hence, it remains to be seen what lies in the future for ‘The Spider’ after such a clean performance.
