Is Jake Paul the real deal, or is he just another loudmouth trying to stay relevant?

The world of mixed martial arts went into a speculation frenzy after Jake Paul dragged in Alex Pereira, after defeating Mike Perry via TKO in the 6th round. Paul’s callout for ‘Poatan’ wasn’t something that many in the fighting community accepted well. But there was an entity who seemed to believe that it was a callout for Dana White, and not for the man with the ‘hands of stone.’

You read that right! The former mixed martial artist and professional boxer, Tyron Woodley, seemed to believe so. Let’s find out what the former UFC champ had to say.

Dave Schmulenson, the man who is popularly known as ‘The Schmo’, interviewed a few big names backstage and in the locker room of the Amalie Arena, right after Paul’s TKO victory. One of them was Tyron Woodley. When the former UFC welterweight fighter was asked to share his opinion about the callout for Pereira, he sent a shockwave through the fighting community with his words.

Woodley seemed to believe that it was a call out for the UFC head honcho. After all, he was the only one who could make the fight happen. ‘Pereira’ is still under contract to fight under the banner of UFC. This was previously highlighted by Darren Till when he elected himself as an opponent for ‘The Problem Child’

The former UFC champion opined, “I mean, I think it was more so of a Dana callout, you know. We all know as a champion, every time you win a strap and defend, your contract is the end of the year. He know that only Dana can make that happen. So, if he’s calling out and he wants it and Pereira wants it, we seen him on Facetime, it’s up to Dana to make this fight happen. So, I think it was more of that than it was anything else.”

Needless to say, the former YouTuber was also aware of White’s stance in his callout. However, during the Facetime, the Brazilian and his teammate addressed the problem.

Dana White stands between Paul and Alex Pereira

A few hours after the callout, the UFC LHW champ took to social media and shared a video of him Facetiming Paul. As soon as ‘The Problem Child’ asked Pereira for a fight, the champ said, “Chama! Let’s go my guy.” However, Paul wasn’t entirely sure that the UFC CEO would let them fight. That was when Glover Teixeira swooped in and replied, “We’ll talk to him, we’ll talk to him.”

Without a doubt, the fight will not materialize without White’s permission. Of course, the man with the hands of stone has a fight in negotiations where he is supposed to face Magomed Ankalaev in his next title defense. But if he is ready to fight Paul in the squared ring, the fight fans are in for a treat.

Do you agree with what Woodley had to say about Paul’s callout? Do you think White will allow Pereira to go and box with Paul? Who do you think would rise victorious out of the two? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
