While combat sports athletes fight because of their passion for martial arts, all of them have financial goals as well. So why are Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, two billionaires, so eager to step into the cage? The reason behind their desire to fight may be something more primal, according to UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping.

In a recent episode of his ‘Believe You Me’ podcast, Bisping discussed the recent fight talks involving tech billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. The Tesla CEO expressed his willingness to fight the Meta CEO in a cage and the latter agreed. Now, their cage fight is the talk of the town with UFC president Dana White also interested in setting it up.

Amid all this chaos Bisping wanted to discuss what motivates people to fight in the first place. According to ‘The Count,’ everybody wants to be a fighter and craves the feeling of being able to dominate another human being. In short, Bisping says people like to be ‘alphas.’

To substantiate his claim, the Englishman used an anecdote about Mike Tyson he heard from Hollywood star Michael Jai White.

Michael Bisping uses Mike Tyson story to explain Musk vs. ‘Zuck’

Michael Bisping referenced his documentary that had narrations from the likes of Joe Rogan and Michael Jai White. The former middleweight champion then said what White said about Mike Tyson.

Bisping said, “Michael Jai White was saying because he did a movie as Mike Tyson, and he says everyone always wanted to hear the Mike Tyson stories about him and all the rest of it. And then he said if you’re in a restaurant and you’re sitting in there and you’re with a governor or a big-time politician, you’re with an actor, you’re with a musician, whatever. And then Mike Tyson walks in the room everyone turns and looks at Mike Tyson when he was in his prime.”
