Conor McGregor just doesn’t miss a chance. Whether it’s the UFC or boxing, he made waves when he trash-talked Manny Pacquiao during a live boxing event. It all came after the boxer lost a lawsuit against Paradigm Sports Management, a sports agency that also happens to represent ‘The Notorious’.
Now, Pacquiao is looking to face Floyd Mayweather soon in Japan. However, the Irishman was not quite impressed with the boxer’s showmanship. Perhaps because it would have paled in comparison if McGregor himself were in the corner. Here’s the story.

Conor McGregor is the king of creating hype. Manny Pacquiao, however, may not be the grandest showman. And this became a target for the former multi-divisional champ of the UFC. A clip of Pacquiao announcing his Mayweather fight just went viral.

“I hope to see you, here in Japan again with a big fight against Floyd Mayweather.” He said it in the most mundane fashion, and for a moment, it looked like he forgot who his opponent was. A fellow announcer in the ring reminded Pacquiao of his opponent’s name so he could clarify it. He later clarified that he wasn’t sure if he was meant to announce the name itself too.
Of course, McGregor took his shots and trolled him in his Instagram stories, captioning it “A lesson in how not to make an announcement.” Do you think the beef will take the fighters into a ring? For now, it would appear that both, McGregor and Pacquiao are occupied with different opponents.
But their beef can be brought down to one single thing. A lawsuit against the boxer that cost him $8 million in total. This lawsuit is probably why McGregor has the 45-year-old in his crosshair. While Pacquiao could make that amount back soon with his stature, the loss is no less bitter. Here’s what happened.

The management agency that also represents McGregor would soon go on to sue the boxer for about $5.1 million. However, fees paid to lawyers and other charges amounted to a mammoth figure of $8 million. And more importantly, it cost Pacquiao constant embarrassment in the form of an Irishman who just wouldn’t quit calling him out. Was it all worth the risk for Pacquiao? Some could say, clearly not.
