Defeating Mike Tyson seems to have brought more infamy than fame to Jake Paul. Not only did ‘The Problem Child’ win but he also dominated the squared ring against ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’. This feat made the fighting community believe the fight was rigged. On top of that, rumors of a leaked script for the fight went viral on social media. So, it was high time for the Most Valuable Promotions to take charge and defend Paul.

On 26th November, MVP released an official statement, claiming that Paul vs. Tyson was indeed a professional bout. After all, it was sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. It also claimed that both Tyson and Paul were able to use everything at their disposal to win the fight. After all, any deviance from that would violate TDLR boxing rules. The statement pointed out that falsely claiming the fight was rigged would be nothing but an insult to the fighters.

Nakisa Bidarian, the co-founder of MVP, also penned a few words. He stood beside the YouTuber-turned-professional boxer and showed his disappointment at people doubting Paul’s achievements. He continued, “Jake has not only proven himself repeatedly, but he has continuously set historic records that speak for themselves. This event, which broke attendance and viewership milestones for a professional sporting event, is yet another example of his ability to deliver on the biggest stage. As long as Jake continues to exceed expectations, there will always be those who try to discredit his achievements. We embrace the doubt – it only fuels Jake to work harder and achieve greater success.”

As soon as the post hit Instagram, the former UFC contender and Paul’s former opponent, Tyron Woodley dropped to the comments section to reveal his thoughts. He wrote, “I wouldn’t even waste time explaining.” Despite losing to Paul 2 years back, Woodley stood in support of Paul.

Well, this wasn’t the first time Woodley dismissed the accusations of the fights being rigged. Even Din Thomas, Woodley’s coach refused that Paul vs. Woodley was a rigged bout.

Tyron Woodley’s coach once claimed Jake Paul competes in “legit fights”

What’s your perspective on:

Did Jake Paul really outbox Mike Tyson, or is the rigging talk just sour grapes?

Have an interesting take?

Talking to MMA on SiriusXM back in 2022, Thomas said, “That whole theory [of the fight being rigged], it makes me laugh because being in his camp, I know how serious it was. It was serious like Tyron really wanted this win back, he really wanted this fight and it was a serious thing. Now, if it was a dive, I wish they told me about it because I wouldn’t have shown up and taken the night off. I’d be like partying but that wasn’t the case. I mean it was a real, legit fight.” This was right after Woodley told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, that the dive he took while getting KOed by Paul was definitely not on purpose.

But why is Paul succeeding at such a high rate? ‘The Chosen One’ had a response to that. Before the clash between Mike Tyson and Paul, ‘T-Wood’ opined, “Jake’s always on a win-win situation.” No one would blame him for losing against someone like Nate Diaz or Anderson Silva. He continued, “So he’s always in a position where, if he wins, he goes up. If he loses, it’s like OK, he took a risk, he took a chance. I like the fight. I’ll be at the fight.”

Jake Paul also packs quite the punch. He has improved his fighting skills and has continued to do so. Even though the heartbreak at the AT&T arena was imminent, it wasn’t a fight that was in any way rigged. Paul was literally thirty years younger than ‘Iron’ Mike so is it really a surprise that he eked out a decision? Let us know in the comments.
