As the UFC world is waiting for his return to the octagon, Conor McGregor has revealed that he is in talks to fight Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition. Of course, this fight cannot happen without the UFC signing off on it since the Irishman is still signed with the premier MMA promotion of the world.
‘Mystic Mac’ revealed in a recent tweet that India’s business magnate dynasty, the Ambani family will finance the clash, but actually there is an even better person to make the fight happen – UFC CEO Dana White. How so? Well, let’s take a look.
Logan Paul, unlike his brother Jake, has a good relationship with Dana White and the UFC. In fact, the Paul’s co-owned beverage brand, ‘Prime’, is the official hydration partner of the promotion and is featured on the scales during UFC weigh-ins. More importantly, however, Logan is signed to the WWE.

The WWE and UFC are both owned by ‘TKO Holdings’, which means that neither Conor McGregor nor Logan Paul would have much trouble securing the blessings of their respective promotions for a clash. After all, it would be beneficial for all parties involved. ‘The Notorious’ remains one of the most popular combat sports athletes in the world, while Logan has a die-hard following especially amongst teens and young adults.
A fight between the two would raise Logan’s profile and recognizability among fight fans, while ‘Mac’ would likely get exposure to a much younger demographic. The UFC and WWE, of course, could then potentially make more money off of Conor McGregor and Logan Paul, respectively.

And who better to put on that fight than the guy who runs the biggest, most prestigious combat sports promotion in the world and puts on big fights on a monthly basis. Which brings us to our second reason why Dana White should make McGregor-Paul.
Dana White-led Zuffa boxing could host Conor McGregor vs. Logan Paul clash
Dana White is stepping into the boxing business. The UFC CEO teased earlier this year that he would start a promotion, ‘Zuffa Boxing’, in the near future whose aim would be to have the best fight the best, which happens surprisingly rarely in boxing according to some fight fans. But McGregor-Paul is far from the best fighting the best, from a purely skills perspective. That must mean Zuffa Boxing would not be a good home for the fight, right?

Not really. The UFC CEO has also said that he would be interested in holding cross-over fights in the slated promotion. And that makes perfect sense. After all, Jake Paul, for instance, sells more PPVs than most boxing champions. Having cross-over fights could help Zuffa Boxing make more money, which it could then spend on the actual, real fighters in the promotion.
This is why having Logan Paul vs. Conor McGregor is a good fight to make for Dana White. Maybe Zuffa Boxing is not far enough along to be able to host McGregor-Paul since the ball is already rolling on it, but Dana White could still be involved. Perhaps under the rubric of the UFC, or perhaps the broader TKO Group if White doesn’t want the UFC brand attached with the fight. He would certainly know how to promote it. What do you think about Dana White involving himself in the Logan Paul vs. Conor McGregor fight?
