In a candid interview with TMZSports, Usman delved into the intricacies of the upcoming Ngannou vs Fury boxing match. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ acknowledged Ngannou’s extraordinary journey through adversity. Further, he described the heavyweight fighter as “blessed” for having navigated the challenges that life had thrown his way.

“Francis is just blessed. With all the trials and tribulations, that have gone through in his life. He is blessed to still be here standing right now and to have a fight like this, of this magnitude,” Usman said. Going ahead, the former UFC welterweight champ expressed his admiration for this monumental boxing match, considering it to be one of the most significant events in the world.

Moreover, he underscored the importance of effective promotion, noting the potential for the fight to be truly spectacular if handled correctly. “This is the biggest fight in the world. If they can promote this thing the right way, oh yeah it’s an amazing fight,” he said.

Next, Usman shifted the conversation towards Ngannou’s chances of victory in this bout. Firstly, he acknowledged the changes that the former UFC heavyweight champ might have to adapt to because he is not a full-time boxer. However, Usman believes that ‘The Predator’ can cope up with those adjustments because of his exceptional power.

“And obviously Francis is not a full-time boxer so it’s going to be different. The mechanics are going to be a little bit different, but the one thing that Francis has is… God has blessed him with power,” he said. Further, he established that if Ngannou catches Fury with a powerful punch, the boxing veteran can get knocked out.

“If he touched your head anywhere, it does not matter. If he touch you, you might not wake up and so that’s… I give him that chance for sure,” Usman added.
