Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez—two names that represent opposite sides of the boxing spectrum. One, a disruptive force from the world of social media – eager to prove himself as a legitimate fighter. The other, a battle-hardened champion – revered for his skill and legacy in the sport. Their paths weren’t supposed to cross, yet here they are, locked in a war of words, accusations, and allegedly million-dollar deals gone sideways.

At the heart of the drama? A supposed contract, a last-minute betrayal, and a Saudi-backed deal that snatched Alvarez away at the eleventh hour. Paul, never one to back down from a public feud, recently claimed on social media he had proof that Canelo was ready to fight him—until money changed everything.

Jake Paul goes off on Canelo Alvarez after being left hanging by boxing superstar

For months, whispers in the boxing world suggested something big was brewing. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Paul and Alvarez were finalizing a bout for May 3 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Then, just as quickly as the deal came together, it vanished.

Jake Paul‘s response? A blistering tirade aimed directly at Alvarez on social media where he stated, “Time to expose him. So we had a signed contract to fight. Here you could see Canelo’s signature and my signature to the right, claiming he’s not fighting YouTubers. Bulls—. Look at the poster. We are announcing Tuesday, February 11. Claiming he fights real fighters, but he’s fighting Crawford, a one hundred and thirty-five-pound fighter, and running from a real fighter like David Benavidez, you b—-. The truth is you can be bought.”

But Paul didn’t stop there. Canelo Alvarez’s sudden pivot to Saudi Arabia wasn’t just a missed opportunity for Paul. He further explained, “You’re a money-hungry squirrel chasing your next nut. The truth is these sports-washing shady characters are paying you hundreds of millions of dollars to stop our fight from happening because they couldn’t fathom the fact that they can’t create a bigger fight than me and you.”

‘The Problem Child’ then took aim at the reported Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford clash that’s reportedly scheduled to take place in September. According to him, “And I promise you one thing, Canelo. Any fight that you do this year, mine will be bigger.”

But if Paul was expecting sympathy, he found none from Turki Alalshikh. The Saudi Arabian GEA (General Entertainment Authority) chairman not only secured Canelo Alvarez’s contract but took a moment to poke fun at Jake Paul’s misfortune with a cheeky offer!

Turki Alalshikh offers Paul a unique alternative after the Alvarez fight falls through

Jake Paul thought he had it locked in—a fight against Canelo Alvarez, a showdown that could cement his place in boxing history. But just as the deal seemed set, the rug was pulled from under him. Alvarez walked away, signing a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season, leaving Paul with nothing but frustration and a long social media rant.

According to Turki Alalshikh, the mastermind behind the move, the Paul vs Alvarez fight was never that intriguing in the first place. Why? In a sarcastic jab during an interview with ESPN, he stated, “I think Canelo is too young to take this fight, You can have it after 30 years, when [Canelo] is 60.”

A possible shot at ‘The Problem Child’s last outing against Mike Tyson? But Alalshikh wasn’t done just yet. Why fight Alvarez when Paul could step into the ring with another internet superstar? Alalshikh proposed a fight against none other than Mr. Beast, the world’s biggest YouTuber. He fired off by sharing “Let them bring Mr. Beast and we can sanction it, with Disney, for the belt of YouTube. And everyone will subscribe and see it. Everyone will see it and for the YouTuber belt.”

A bout against Mr. Beast, no matter how absurd, would draw massive numbers and possibly millions of dollars for Paul. Alalshikh knows this, and his sarcasm hints at a deeper truth—Paul’s biggest strength may not be in his boxing skill, but in creating eye-catching spectacles. And if history is anything to go by, if there’s one thing ‘The Problem Child’ excels at, it’s turning setbacks into headlines.
