Jake Paul has again made a major announcement and has shocked the combat sports world. The YouTuber-turned-boxer is set to fight former UFC welterweight Nate Diaz in the boxing ring. ‘The Problem Child’ was targeting this fight for a long time and finally, he managed to get free agent Diaz signed for the bout. The announcement of the fight has sent the combat sports world into excitement.

However, a UFC legend has pointed out his concerns regarding the big-money fight between Diaz and Paul. He also gave his verdict about the two fighting inside the boxing ring.

Daniel Cormier declares Jake Paul fight to be the biggest payday for Nate Diaz

The UFC commentator made a verdict about Jake Paul fighting Nate Diaz. Furthermore, he also said that he does not like the idea of the former UFC welterweight facing the much younger boxer.

DC‘ said, “Jake had a rematch clause. But instead of using the rematch clause, he goes and fights Nate Diaz. Now I believe this will be the biggest payday of Nate Diaz’s career and I know Nate has made a lot of money in the UFC. With that being said, though, I don’t know how much I like it.”

He also said that he does not like “Jake’s big form.” Paul weighs close to 185 pounds in his fights and Nate Diaz fought at 155 and 170 pounds in his entire career. Furthermore, ‘DC’ also said that Paul is improving as a boxer and can “hit” Diaz.

The former UFC double champion gave analyzed the qualities of both fighters on his podcast. He has some pertinent things to say, which also included a strength that the younger Diaz brother could capitalize on!

‘DC’ continued, “This guy is going to be difficult.” Cormier said while being cautious about Diaz, “It’s going to be a very tough fight for Diaz just because he has to be so aware. Now, can Diaz outbox him, yeah! If he can outwork him, I think Diaz’s ability to outwork people is what’s going to be his biggest advantage in this fight.”

Furthermore, Cormier felt that the Stockton fighter had a chance at victory if he set a high pace and didn’t gas out. While for many combat fans, Diaz versus Paul came as a surprise, it seems to have been a well-thought decision for the former. He had hinted at the Paul fight months ago.
