Ryan Garcia delivered one of the most breathtaking boxing performances on April 20 when he defeated Devin Haney. The 25-year-old handed Haney his first professional loss and dropped him thrice during the fight. However, what followed was a nightmare for most professional athletes- ‘King Ryan’ tested positive for a banned substance, Ostarine, much to the surprise of the fans.

Since then, the boxing prodigy has been facing severe criticism from experts. However, in a recent development, his B-sample has also tested positive, adding to the controversy. In response to the results, Garcia’s legal team has issued a statement that has not gone well with Chael Sonnen.

Ryan Garcia reportedly had been tested on April 19 and April 20 respectively and his reports came back positive. However, he further submitted his B-samples on May 1 which has now come back as positive as well. Adding to the controversy Garcia’s legal team has now issued a statement which has not gone well with ‘Uncle Sonnen’.

The team insisted that ‘King Ryan’ has never used drugs intentionally which may now put the 25-year-old in trouble. The former UFC fighter in his recent video said, “If you want to be a real strong legal team find a way to word it. Where the person reading it interprets a subtle threat that if they are to go around and say that Garcia did do these things you are going to come after him. That would be a good legal team.”

Both of Garcia’s previous tests were carried out by VADA, which came back positive. Sonnen, in his latest video, pointed out how a strong legal team can challenge the result. Yet, issuing a statement like this can affect their chances.

He further added, “That is not what he has. This was a terrible statement and it becomes a slippery slope. If you are saying that he did not take the substance that the test is saying. Then you are going after VADA yes or no. Because this statement make sure to do a lot of things and not going after VADA ‘S credibility is one of them. So it’s yes or no?”

The 25-year-old was even accused of taking 19-Norandrosterone metabolite, but luckily he has been cleared of that. Nevertheless, his Ostarine reports are enough to affect his career. Amidst all the chaos surrounding Garcia’s professional life, he has now found a new rival in Renato Moicano.

Renato Moicano wants to take on Ryan Garcia after his latest controversy

Renato Moicano was last seen inside the Octagon at the historic UFC 300 event. The Brazilian took on Jalin Turner and knocked him out in the second round to clinch an impressive victory. However, it now seems that he has shifted his focus to boxing and has developed a special liking for Garcia. He recently featured at the UFC Fight Pass Invitational 7 and took on Cristian Guzman in a grappling match. The 35-year-old not only won the fight but then took the opportunity to call out Ryan Garcia. During his post-fight interview, he thanked the crowd for supporting him.

However, he made a special mention for the 25-year-old boxer as well. The Brazilian said, “I’m a UFC fighter, top 10 lightweights, and today I was doing grappling. We MMA fighters do it all, but next time I want to try boxing. Ryan Garcia, you motherfu**r, steroid abuser, my brother, if I go to boxing, I’m gonna f**k you up. Easy money.” Moicano is not the only problem for Garcia at the moment. Devin Haney and his legal team have also been very active lately and they now want the decision to be overruled after he tested positive.
