Another weekend brought another exciting fight as Gervonta Davis retained his WBA lightweight title while narrowly escaping defeat against Lamont Roach Jr. in a fight to remember. The fight ended in a draw, but the undisputed welterweight champion, Terence Crawford, claims that there might have been an error in judging because he had Roach winning the contest.

“They robbed that boy and it’s crazy,” Terence Crawford wrote on X. That’s a sentiment shared by a certain section of the boxing fans as Gervonta Davis drew a match for the first time in his career. While the fight was deemed to be a majority draw, fans argued that Lamont Roach was the better fighter on the night and controlled about 75 percent of the 12 rounds.

But is there any solution to sort this issue out? Well, how about a rematch? That’s what former UFC champion Henry Cejudo has to say, who enjoyed the 12-round scrap between Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach Jr.

Gervonta Davis, who’s one of the faces of boxing, surely had people questioning after the disputed draw, but in the meantime, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson has come out to take a dig at ‘Tank’. Here’s what ‘Outlaw’ had to say.

Nevertheless, Shakur Stevenson is still up for that challenge and is waiting on ‘Tank’ for an actual offer. “(I ain’t even going to) s— on dude like he would do me, But I’m still ready and willing to fight, let’s make it happen,” Stevenson wrote on X. Meanwhile, the WBC champ actually placed around $5,000 in this fight, predicting that it would go the entire 12 rounds, and that’s exactly what happened, so it was a win for Stevenson and if not for Gervonta Davis.
