Former five-division champion Floyd Mayweather is no stranger to flaunting his wealth, whether through social media or luxury real estate investments. However, he recently grabbed headlines for public support of Republican President Donald Trump. This endorsement has stirred controversy, with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, openly criticizing Mayweather’s stance.

The retired boxing legend has remained consistent in his support for Donald Trump, backing the former president both in words and actions. ‘Money’ Mayweather attended Trump’s first inauguration and stood by him throughout 2017, despite generally keeping a low profile on political matters. The pair even share similar views about Israel, with Mayweather donating $1 million to the United Hatzalah of Israel last year. Mayweather’s support for Trump continued when he appeared in an interview with Fox Business, where the boxing legend claimed Donald Trump is the “best president we ever had.”

“We had Trump before, we didn’t appreciate him. I think Trump is a great president, actually he’s the best president in my eyes, he’s the best president we’ve ever had. Great businessman and that’s what it’s about. Trump has done an amazing job and a lot of people around America are upset. But no matter who goes into the White House, we’re always upset. And I think Trump is the man for the job, he’s the best president in my eyes,”  Mayweather said during the interview. While most people online didn’t seem to be against Mayweather’s support for Trump, Khabib’s manager couldn’t sit still.

After Mayweather shared a clip from his interview, Abdelaziz quickly responded to the post, claiming Mayweather was “fake” and a hypocrite. “This guy is so fake, he was a big Obama and Biden supporter, now he is talking about President Trump. You cannot play two side of the fence. This guy is fake and a fraud,” he wrote on X.

It’s no secret that Mayweather supported Obama during the latter’s time as president, but it’s not the first time Mayweather has taken Trump’s side.

Floyd Mayweather defends Donald Trump after derogatory remarks about women

Back in 2017, Floyd Mayweather defended Donald Trump’s infamous 2005 remarks about women, dismissing them as mere “locker room talk.” The former boxing champion spoke about the issue in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Mayweather's support for Trump genuine, or is he just playing both sides for attention?

Have an interesting take?

“People don’t like the truth. He speak like a real man spoke,” Mayweather said, referring to Trump’s recorded comments in which he boasted about grabbing women without consent. Trump, who made the remarks during an Access Hollywood interview, later apologized when the recording resurfaced during his 2016 presidential campaign.

Mayweather compared the comments to casual conversations among men about women’s bodies. “Real men speak like, ‘Man, she had a fat a**. You see her a**? I had to squeeze her a**. I had to grab that fat a**.’ Right?” he said. “So he talking locker room talk… ‘Yeah, I grabbed her by the p****. And?’”

The boxer’s defense of Trump’s remarks drew criticism, especially given Mayweather’s own history—he served jail time in 2012 after pleading guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

That being said, it appears Floyd Mayweather has remained true to his support for Donald Trump, even though Abdelaziz feels Mayweather is “fake” and often changes sides. What are your thoughts on Mayweather’s support for Trump?
