Ariel Helwani and Co. discuss Katie Taylor
In a recent episode of ‘The MMA Hour,’ Ariel Helwani and his guests discussed Katie Taylor and her upcoming fight against Chantelle Cameron in Dublin. Helwani was gushing over Taylor for finding herself a tougher challenge when she could not face Amanda Serrano as planned.
He said, “Here’s the thing about Taylor’s fight. Taylor’s fight is like, culturally, historically significant, right? For that country, for her, for women’s boxing… What isn’t being talked about enough is… she could have fought a broomstick, that place would have solid out.”
He further discussed how her opponent was tougher, younger, and bigger.

However, one of his guests had a disagreement with Helwani. He said, “I don’t buy it. Don’t buy tougher…” But he did not question Taylor’s fighting spirit- “There’s one thing you can never say about Katie Taylor – she did not duck the smoke. She is a legit fighting champion. She wants to fight real opponents. No doubt in my mind.”
What are your expectations for Taylor vs. Cameron? Who do you think wins the fight? And what do you think of Conor McGregor stepping in to help set up the fight?
