Jorge Masvidal recently took to Twitter and suggested a potential boxing match up between Yoel Romero and Jake Paul. Romero recently posted on Twitter a GIF of him ‘DITTYBOXIN’ in response to Jake Paul’s callout of MMA fighters.

“Soldier Of God” has been out of action since his unsuccessful title quest at UFC 248 against Israel Adesanya. His friend and long-time teammate, Jorge Masvidal, may just have come up with the perfect way for him to end his time away from competition.

Gamebred” acted as matchmaker as he tweeted, “Let’s do it (Yoel Romero) vs (Jake Paul)”.

Paul is calling the biggest MMA stars out for a fight since his KO win over former NBA player Nate Robinson. Furthermore, this fight would be perfect as both Paul and Romero are around the same weight class.

Jorge Masvidal and Yoel Romero are both veterans of MMA

Romero is one of the most vicious strikers in MMA. He carries knockout power in almost every shot he throws. He may not be a professional boxer, but Jake Paul should turn down this fight. The Cuban fighter has seen it all in combat sports compared to Paul’s limited experience of fighting two novices.

Masvidal has surely seen the bright side of this though, as a fight against Paul can secure a big pay-day for his friend with limited efforts.

The UFC’s BMF has been out of action since his own unsuccessful title quest against Kamaru Usman at UFC 251. “Gamebred” stepped up on 6 days’ notice and saved the main event of the first-ever Fight Island card. He is touted to fight his former best friend and training partner Colby “Chaos” Covington next, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Romero on the other hand was booked to fight Uriah Hall. That fight fell off, and Hall fought Anderson Silva instead. What’s next for the former title-challenger is not clear too. A fight against Jake Paul will be very interesting. But, it’s not clear if Paul will actually want that smoke.

What do you think of a potential Yoel Romero vs Jake Paul boxing match? How would it go?
