Before the fight, both competitors were undefeated, and fans were excited to see who would come out on top. Shields came out victorious with a dominant unanimous decision. To this day, fans still remember the hype of that bout. Recently, Shields spoke to PFL and talked about a rematch with Marshall. However, her words did not settle well with the fans, who called her out immediately.

“It’s a big draw (in MMA) and more money and making women’s boxing as a whole with women combat sports,” she said. Going further, she drew comparisons between her potential fight with Marshall and Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather! “If we fought in MMA, I think it would be like Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather,” the accomplished boxer said.

While Shields vs. Marshall in an MMA fight is a far-fetched idea, you never know when it becomes a reality. ‘The GWOAT’ has an MMA record of 1-1. Marshall, on the other hand, has never stepped into an MMA cage.
