Sean O’Malley is one confident fighter. Not only does the fighter perform in the cage with fellow UFC fighters, but he is sure that he can take down some of the best boxers in the world too. However, there’s just a little bit of a twist in the narrative there.

O’Malley recently appeared in an episode of The MMA Hour Show with Ariel Helwani. He sat down with the journalist and talked about multiple things. One of them being boxing. While the fighter admitted that he doesn’t watch boxing a lot, he can still tear down some of the world’s best. Here’s the story.

O’Malley and Ryan Garcia‘s little beef has been rather public. However, now the fighter is certain he can also take down Shakur Stevenson, Gervonta Davis, and Devin Haney. These are some of the best boxers in the world right now. However, according to O’Malley, they stand no chance against him in a cage.

“I can fight all three of them in an MMA fight,” O’Malley told Helwani. “Not at the same time, but I can beat em all in one night.” O’Malley said. “In an MMA fight. Like that’s embarrassing. No it’s not embarrassing, I take that back, but they can talk sh*t on Twitter but they can’t actually fight . . . do I believe I can beat em? Yes. Am I a little delusional? That’s how I got here.”

Clearly, O’Malley has the belief of an elephant. He and Garcia have been beefing for some time. “You’re good and all, but stop talking about this and that, let’s box, you’ll just get knocked out.” Garcia tweeted a while ago. Now with the back and forth, will the match-up really ever happen?

O’Malley said that he’d do it if the event was enough of a sell as Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor. However, he also admitted that he’s not as big as the Irishman going to boxing yet. He also showed enough confidence to claim that he’ll be there in a few years. But do fans agree? Here are some of the best fan reactions.

Fans react to O’Malley’s claims

Boxing is a whole different sport and UFC fans know this well after witnessing both, McGregor and Francis Ngannou take a shot at it. So, do they all agree with O’Malley’s claim? The fighter is a proficient striker and it’s profited him too. However, these fans believed otherwise.

“All 3 these guys ko sean in boxing. Like really badly”

“Everyone hating on Sean failed the IQ test in the worst way lmao he’s speaking recklessly for the bag it’s shameless self promotion and it works so well”

Others supported his claims with logic.

“Well yeah? Pure mma rules, he shoots a takedown and just goes straight for a sub, not a crazy claim”

“In the cage there’s no way any of them touch him but strictly boxing I don’t he has much of a chance lol”

“He absolutely can”

This one fan spoke about how O’Malley was being strategic in his approach to making some money.

“Everyone complaining in the comments is exactly what O’Malley wants numbers going up”

Finally, one fan reminded him of his fight with Marlon Vera.

“Defend yourself on the ground?? Like you did against Chito?”

Clearly, the fandom is as divided as ever. The real question here is, does Sean O’Malley really want a boxing match against any of the three boxers he mentioned? As of now, he has a match scheduled against Marlon Vera in March of next year. Will he win it this time? Only time will tell.
