The much-anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is just around the corner, set to take place on November 15th. As the date approaches, fans and analysts are buzzing with predictions and speculations about who will emerge victorious. Paul, a Disney and YouTube star turned boxer, has dramatically shifted the boxing landscape since his debut in 2018. Yet, he’s stepping into the ring with a true legend in the form of ‘Iron Mike’.
One of the key points of contention among boxing pundits and fans alike is the significant age gap: Tyson is 58, while Paul is just 27. This disparity has sparked intense debate within the boxing community, as many wonder how age will factor into the fight. It’s a dilemma where experts are weighing the experience and skill of a veteran against the youth and vigor of a rising star. It seems that UFC star Sean O’Malley has also caught that train.

The Schmo has been doing the painstaking work of collecting predictions from industry veterans on Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson for the past eight months. Finally, he has compiled a video of multiple sports athletes and celebrities who chimed in their picks for the bout. Naturally one of the people he asked was former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley who has his honest take on the matter.
He said, “There are limits to what you can do, I mean his body has been through it you know you can’t count him out. I just feel like Jake’s too locked in too in it. He has been in it too long like in the last five years who has been in it more. I think that matters and wait he’s 30 years younger. I just don’t see this ending well for Uncle Mike Tyson.”
The Montana native was logical in his explanation and rightfully mentioned the physical inefficiencies that Tyson carries at 58 years old. Adding to the same he also mentioned how Paul had slowly trained himself and has turned into a formidable force in the discipline. ‘Suga’ stated, “Speed I mean power even at this point Jake’s not a little guy, Jake’s a big fella he is just fu** locked in. I think the rules set will play a role.”
Recently, the Montana native appeared on Paul’s podcast, “BS w/ Jake Paul,” to further discuss the future of his bout scheduled for November 15 next month. Let’s see what he had to say!

While speaking about the anticipated boxing fight, the former bantamweight Champion spoke about the possibility of Mike Tyson winning. For the unversed, ‘Iron Mike’ was last seen inside the ring against Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout in 2020. O’Malley reflected upon Tyson’s four-year lay-off and said, “So for him to just come up and get a fight, I’m sure he’s going to be in as good shape as he possibly could be in. But it’s just, you know, it’s not his time right now.”

This conversation has been a hot topic for much of the year, with many fans believing that a veteran like Mike Tyson will triumph over Jake Paul. However, “The Problem Child,” despite his nerves about the upcoming fight, could very well outpace Tyson simply due to his age. Moreover, Paul has repeatedly proven his mettle against former UFC fighters like Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. O’Malley has previously expressed his desire to step into the boxing ring with ‘The Problem Child’ for a multimillion-dollar payday. So, maybe this cross-promotional bout may take place someday in the future.
What do you think? Do you side with ‘Suga’ and believe that Paul’s age and training will give him the edge? Or do you think Tyson will show why he’s regarded as one of the greatest of all time? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
