Francis Ngannou just went and locked horns with Anthony Joshua. However, this fight ended much differently than his last boxing bout as ‘The Predator’ may just have discovered an apex fighter in his own right. Anthony Joshua has become the first man to knock him out.

And it wasn’t a simple knockout either. The fight looked rather lopsided for Ngannou who looked almost as if he wasn’t fully himself throughout the bout. Perhaps, Joshua proved too fast and too sharp for the heavyweight. Now, he has some words to offer his fans.

Right after the match ended, Anthony Joshua could be heard telling Ngannou how he was an inspiration still. He also asked the French-Cameroonian to not leave boxing because of the bitter loss. Ngannou was knocked down two times in the bout before Joshua finally knocked him out cold.

The fighter soon took on to his X handle to address the situation with his fanbase. He apologized for letting everyone down and ensured his fans that he won’t be put off by a single brutal loss even if it showed him the first-ever knockout he’s ever faced.

“Sorry guys I let you all down” he wrote in the X post. “Today was a bad day in the office but tomorrow will be another day. Thank you all for the love” Clearly, the loss has upset the fighter along with many of his MMA fans.  Ngannou was downed so he ended up needing oxygen and was hospitalized soon after, which is procedural for cold knockout losses. What is your take on it?

Perhaps UFC CEO, Dana White, who is at odds with the French Cameroonian might be very pleased to see the knockout. Will Ngannou never box again? The answer remains questionable as he did promise Joshua in the ring that he wouldn’t give it all up.

Francis Ngannou is meant to go for his first MMA bout within the PFL soon. His first MMA bout could be against Renan Fereira. Fereira managed to defeat Ryan Bader in less than a minute and now, perhaps Ngannou has an opponent that could match his knockout power even within the cage.

But will this end up happening? The current lost against Joshua looks heavy on Ngannou’s head and his heart as he takes a moment to let it all process. Many fighters take a rather long duration of time to recover from knockouts, both, physically and emotionally.

Now, the French-Cameroonian may just go back to MMA but this won’t be his last fight. Ngannou will most likely keep moving forwards with boxing too. In this case, should he call for a rematch?
