Jake Paul suffered the first loss of his career after he lost a split decision to Tommy Fury in their long-awaited grudge match. The pair faced each other in Saudi Arabia on February 25 after their previous two fights fell off. Paul and Fury battered each other over eight rounds to settle their differences. At the end of the night, the judges gave the nod to the younger Fury brother, handing Paul his first career loss.
Despite the loss, Paul put on a convincing performance, earning commendations from many. Both fighters matched each other evenly with Fury keeping Paul in check with his jabs. In the later rounds, Paul gave it his all to catch up with Fury and score a knockout. His efforts resulted in him knocking down Fury in the final round. However, his efforts were in vain, as Fury had done enough on the scorecards to get his hand raised.
Paul made a name for himself fighting aging MMA stars like Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Ben Askren. Therefore, many members of the MMA community reacted to Paul getting his first loss from a pure boxer in Tommy Fury.

Jake Paul really isn’t a bad boxer. Like his mechanics, mannerism, it’s all pretty solid. Fury isn’t as polished as I thought he was going to look in my head. Maybe I’m comparing him to Tyson Fury too much. #PaulVsFury

I was right. This fight went exactly on script because this is in code. The opposite of everything written is what was orchestrated to happen. Went off without a hitch.
Perfectly executed fight fixing. pic.twitter.com/dGtUHTQ55s
