Is Jake Paul ready to take on a real fighter like Mike Perry, or is it all hype?

YouTuber-boxer Jake Paul delivered an impressive performance yesterday in his cruiserweight boxing fight against former UFC star and current BKFC competitor Mike Perry. This dominant victory cemented a future bout with Mike Tyson in November on Netflix. Originally scheduled for today, Tyson’s ulcer flare-up on a flight in May forced a postponement. With Tyson sidelined, Perry stepped in as a late replacement.

In addition, Paul’s win has caught the attention of the combat sports world, including a former UFC star, Darren Till, who left the UFC to pursue boxing and made his boxing debut recently. The Englishman has called out Jake Paul for a fight via a social media post, sidestepping Alex Pereira, for a very obvious reason.

Immediately after defeating Mike Perry, Jake Paul wasted no time calling out his next opponent: two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira. Just a few weeks ago, Pereira stepped in to save UFC 303 after Conor McGregor pulled out of the main event due to a pinky toe injury. He successfully defended his light heavyweight title for the second time against Jiri Prochazka.

However, UFC veteran Darren Till isn’t impressed by Paul’s challenge and has offered to take the fight himself. Reminding Paul of reality, Till pointed out on Instagram: ” Pereira is under contract & Mike Tyson is in no fit state,” Till countered on Instagram. “I am the same size & weight. Are we fighting or not? I got ducked the last pull-out with Tyson & they got that midget Perry to step in instead of me. I’m here & I am going to say nothing else. I’ll wait for the call.”

Darren Till recently made his boxing debut against influencer Mohammad Mutie at Social Knockout 3 in Dubai, securing a knockout victory. Originally, Till was scheduled to fight Juilo Cesar Jr. at the AT&T Arena in Arlington, Texas, on the same card headlined by the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul bout. However, due to Tyson’s health issues, the entire event was scrapped. When the fight fell through, Till offered himself as a replacement for Tyson.

Before his recent Instagram post, Darren Till discussed a potential future fight at Anfield, the home stadium of Liverpool FC, in an interview. He revealed his belief that a fight against Jake Paul would sell out the venue due to their combined fanbase.

Darren Till discusses future fight

Buoyed by his recent debut boxing win against Mohammad Mutie, even though it was an exhibition bout, Liverpool native Darren Till isn’t letting that dampen his ambition. While a major draw in the UFC with an impressive overall record, his recent string of losses led him to depart and pursue opportunities elsewhere, specifically aiming for a fight in his hometown in the UK.

However, despite the lack of response from Jake Paul, Till remains interested in facing him. In an interview with CasinoOnlineIn, he revealed, “If me and Jake Paul were scheduled to fight, I think we could actually sell out Anfield. Jake Paul is a Liverpool fan. Obviously, I’m a Liverpool fan.” He further elaborated on the potential fight with Jake Paul, stating,” We’d do big numbers just because of how we’d treat the fight. If Jake Paul ever wants to fight me, the fight is there.
